100-year celebration award
Cub Scouts and their leaders have a special opportunity with the coming 100-year celebration of Boy Scouts; a chance to honor the scouting legacy and earn recognition while doing it.
According to the BSA organization, cubs, boys, adult leaders and even scouting alumni, "can earn awards by demonstrating dedication to five of Scouting’s core values — Leadership, Achievement, Community Service, Character, and the Outdoors."
The patch is actually five awards in one, with recipients hanging five ribbons onto the main patch. The award program runs from September 1, 2009 through the end of 2010.
